Non-invasive scans that help diagnose illnesses and monitor your pet's overall health.
Ultrasound is a valuable imaging tool that helps our veterinarians look inside your pet’s body without surgery. It allows us to investigate symptoms, narrow down potential conditions, and better understand what may be affecting your pet’s health. In some cases, we also use ultrasound as part of routine wellness care to detect concerns early, before they become more serious. If you have questions about our diagnostic services or what your pet’s appointment will involve, our team is always happy to help.
While X-rays scan harder parts of your pet's body, ultrasounds scan the softer-tissued organs. They can help with assessing pregnancies, tumours, as well as abnormalities related to their internal organs. They are typically more detailed than X-rays and can provide real-time views of what is currently happening inside the patient's body.
To avoid blurry scans, we need our patients to remain very still. In some cases, we may need to sedate your pet or use short-acting general anesthesia. In any case, we would always discuss this with the client prior to using any sedation or anesthetic medications.
